Looking for a challenge? These 5 trail running challenges will let you pit your self against the best, or maybe just your PB.
1. One for everyone
If this is your first race or you are entering your 10th Ultra, Lakeland Trails has something for everyone. With events spread across the year there will be an event for you. Distances range from from 5K to crazy 100K ultra marathons and take place across the beautiful Lake District.
2. Run with a side of party
If you like your trail running challenges mixed with a festival, this one is for you! Love Trails takes place each summer in the Gower Peninsular in Wales and boasts live music alongside trail races and other activities.
3. Beer and Trail Running
Love beer and trail running? Well this one has everything you need! The Brewery Trail Run is a 10k trail run which ends at the Tring Brewery.
Taking in the beautiful Chiltern Hills this fun 10k includes beer and a brewery tour in the entry cost.
4. Mountain Festival runs
As part of the Kendal Mountain Festival these races take in the beautiful lake district scenery and have a race for all abilities. Starting at 5k and going up to 50k this is another challenge with something for everyone. Great if you love the mountain festival and want to incorporate your love of running.
5. The extreme one
So maybe you’ve had a taste for trail running challenges and now you want to push yourself. Dubbed ‘The world’s toughest mountain race’ The Dragon’s Back Race is not for the feint hearted.
Taking place over 6 days and covering a distance of 380km, this is the most extreme challenge on this list – only for experienced trail ultra runners.
