I discovered climbing at a festival on the Isle of Wight while on holiday with my family. Amongst all the other fairground rides, was a mobile climbing wall which I decided to spend all my tokens on. I distinctly remember racing my dad to the top of the wall (everything was a competition in our house). I think winning that race incited the competitive streak in me, which is probably what got me hooked on the sport.

What are you working on? What are your goals for the future?

Qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games

Why do you climb? What do you love about climbing?

Because through climbing I’ve travelled the world, competed for my country, explored places I never knew were there and met some amazing people. Climbing has so many different avenues and it’s exciting to think about how much more there is to experience.

Which SCARPA shoe is your favourite?

The Drago was a game changer for me, it massively helped in improving my technique and footwork. It’s perfect for standing on volumes and is my go-to shoe for competitions

Tell us about your best day climbing?

After moving to Leeds earlier this year my housemate showed me around Almscliffe. It’s such a beautiful place and has some really cool lines. The weather that day was perfect and I had a lot of fun trying to work out how to climb outdoors again.
