We recently gathered the Scarpa Trail Running Athlete team to the Lake District for our inaugural athlete meet. The Scarpa trail team is proud to include some of the UKs best trail runners.
We were also joined by Scarpa Trail Run category manager and all round mountain running legend Marco de Gasperi. Marco provided the team with an overview of the range (including some exciting new additions for 2023) before heading out with the team onto the hills of the Lake District.
Marco de Gasperi
Marco de Gasperi is a 5-time World Mountain Running champion with over 25 years of running at the highest level.
Marco now heads up Scarpa’s Trail Running department and, along with his team, is responsible for developing the new range of Scarpa Trail running shoes.
With a newly assembled team, the first task was to get to know each other, and it was clear immediately that almost everyone shared the same passions – long distances and good snacks on the trail!
The team were excited to hear about the new additions coming to the Scarpa run range next year including a very UK focused shoe! (keep your eyes peeled for more on this next year!)

After a great session at the Scarpa UK showroom it was time for the team to head out on the hills. The team were keen to get running and to show Marco the realities of UK running.
A wet, windy and muddy route across the fells in Langdale gave the team a chance to really stretch their legs and bond on the hills!
